i have to admit… there is very very little which makes me FOMO.

But something about what Vision Pro could be sparks child like wonder.

unfortunately, it’s going to be built on top of a corrupt foundation of greed, surveillance, monopoly, and suppression. makes me sad, cause i loooove paradigm altering technology. not to mention i had a dream about this years ago…

It's a little scary to me quite frankly. But boy am I curious about it.

it should be.

and honestly please stay away from it. you are a rare, valuable gem as you are.

If you can temporarily suspend the reality of greed and power hunger, the idea of a virtual overlay for interacting with physical surroundings makes me geek out. Being able to reference schematics and instructions that show parts and actions to be taken on the motor youre actually working on... or the human...

Incredible.

Then again, if you think popup ads are bad now...

I think my curiosity for this machine will always be limited by choice. I also do see the wonders of its application as an engineer precisely as you’d mentioned. Hell yes it would make our lives at the workshop easier. To have access to manuals. Although it might be a long way until they become fully interactive.

I want to try it but I really don’t want to be wearing it.

Now that I think more about it, I find satisfaction in the old school ways of doing things. I got better because it wasn’t easy and I made mistakes.

Mistakes are painful. But you remember after that. Goggles will probably work as a cheat sheet but your memory will fade haha

This. So much potential for not needing a separate screen to distract your eyes and hands from whatever you’re working on.
