I do disagree with the way the argument is formed. Namely, there are parts of the world where things are not working, therefore whatever solutions are working in your part of the world are not legitimate solutions. That's not how systems work. And if this were true, what should we tell the Bitcoin fixes Africa people?

Also, I'm not advocating for technical acceleration. The acceleration is happening either way, and it has been picking up speed for the past 3000 years. Getting upset about it and wishing it would stop, that will not make it stop.

The author making statements about how technology is trending towards "a world in which most humans are useless" - is the type of defeatist bullshit I am talking about. Things are hard, so we’re all screwed. Nah….
