I don't know, if they have fully thought their opinions through, but you can't both preach that government is illegitimate _and_ that governments should be able to send standing armies to conquer their neighbors. I regularly see them taking sides in national conflicts, rather than saying the only principled thing (according to their principles; I am obviously not an anarchist):
1. Both sides are inherently illegitimate.
2. They should have no standing armies to send.
3. They should have no governments to send the armies.
4. The existence of national governments is the catalyst of the war, as individuals would not be able to wage war on such a broad scale, even if they temporarily banded into a militia.
5. Both armies should be disbanded and the governments shut down. That would be the only real and lasting peace deal.
My general impression β that I have had for quite some time, now β is that a lot of so-called anarchists are just against _western_ governments; not government, in general. They're just larping as anarchists on the Internet.
