When I span up my Nostr keys, I had no idea how valuable they would already have become

I was singing up to clients that I can’t even remember

No idea if I used the nostr:nprofile1qqsyv47lazt9h6ycp2fsw270khje5egjgsrdkrupjg27u796g7f5k0spzemhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejz7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctcyq5fje browser extension (which I really like)

So a fear I have: what if a startup client, that might already have folded, loses all their customer npub and nsec data?

You could spend years building, to only have someone steal the keys

Do you start again? Totally from scratch, and take much better care?

The sunk cost fallacy playing hardball here

I've seen a couple of people bail on their npub because they believed their nsec was compromised. I suspect they were just being paranoid.

While losing exclusive access to your nsec would be a set back, I don't think it's disastrous.

Better to assume it's not compromised & just be more careful in the future.

That was my take thus far. Ie one is being too paranoid

All part of trying something new!
