Hate to say it, but Metric is actually quite reality based. One milliliter of water is one gram, one liter of water is one kilogram... 0*C is freezing and 100*C is boiling. 1000m in a km, but how many feet or yards in a mile?

Yes, but... 0*F is cold and 100*F is hot. 100*C means you're dead.
Sure. It's logical but only useful for a society that doesn't regularly trade or build things by hand. Base 10 is exceptionally frustrating for trying to evenly divide things into thirds. Base12 is much better for most things that one needs to do on a regular basis.
