The people laughing about it are usually the sane ones.
Lots of people care but don’t have a voice/influence on public consensus/discourse.
I care, my reach is very small but I know there are a million like me. Not who have my views, but just people who care.
What do you want to say about public discourse?
Well, on this topic, in particular, I would say that I care about history. It matters to me I think about it often. I think about the ambition and the risks people have taken in the past.
I’m impressed by what was built both physically and intellectually. I’m interested in the great civilizations and the small tribes and bands.
I think both have virtues, and I often compare my life, my speech, my clothing, and my mind, to how I imagine their’s might’ve been.
