If you're priotizing health over fashion, and you should, then barefoot sandles, natural fibers, and full range of motion should be a priority. That doesn't mean you have to give up on looking good.

I have two pairs of Xeros. One for exercising/active stuff, and the other one all black and up to the ankle, wouldn't say formal by any stretch, but suitable for work. I did remove the insoles, I found them a bit excessive, and it's like walking barefoot.
