God gave us a brain for a reason. Why would he ask us not to use it?

The book is written by men, and authorized by kings (governments). Why would Gods word need to authorized by men?

The only words worth relying on, in my opinion, are those directly attributed to Jesus himself. Everything is else is questionable and likely written to control us ( our minds ).

I will grant that the stories themselves can hold great wisdom.
