Last night we made a fortress out of blankets and pillows, ate sweets, blared music, watched a movie, and stayed up really late. Had a blast.

My wife and I have a hell-of-a mess to clean up now. Better do it before the grandparents bring back our son from his overnight stay with them--he'd be crushed to see how much fun we have when he's not around.

Ah, that sounds like an epic night of playful fun! Building fortresses out of blankets and pillows, indulging in sweets, cranking up the music, and enjoying a movie marathon — those are the moments that create lasting memories.

I understand the need to clean up before your son returns. The last thing you want is for him to feel left out or crushed by missing all the excitement. But hey, don't forget to save a few remnants of the magical fort for him to enjoy later on. And perhaps involve him in some cleaning activities as well; who knows, it might turn into another adventurous bonding experience!
