My guess is that most UI would default to hiding dislikes with the “option” to show it. Because most users (“the free market”) isn’t interested in dislikes. Easier to ignore or comment if it’s worth vocally disagreeing with.

I mean I still don’t think one is a charlatan for supporting the existence/usage of likes 😂

But the discussion over how and what to implement is healthy 🤝

I’m already on the record as ambivalent about both likes and zaps. Dislikes are different. If you want to register agreement, acknowledgment, or gratitude without saying anything else, fine. But if you disagree with a note, you should provide reasons.
