It's becoming a circular scheme, where old people buy houses and rent them to young people at inflated prices, and then the mortgages and rents are repackaged into REITs and resold as investment vehicles to other old people. 🥴
It’s not just old people, biggest pain point is caused by funds. Mother fucking funds that buy up property or land and sit on it or make it in to Airbnb.
There’s hardly any interest in buying but prices aren’t falling… no one wants to hoard cash, putting it all in to harder assets
The price fluctuations over here are getting way more volatile. A week or two ago my house dropped 94k in value then 62k and now it's down 81k.
