The important aspect is to offer relevant and helpful feedback. If users are going to spend time with an app it is important to listen to their experience, even if some of them may lack programming experience.

For those who have programming experience, being self-critical in order to improve a design is not much different from from sharing the same type of considerations with the designs of others.
