Definitely does affect people but pole shift with crustal displacement I cant say for sure, but if it does everyone on the planet is kind of screwed anyway. Also most people were freaking out about Yellowstone erupting and other nonsense like the Y2k bug before that, its probably best to live your life as is than freaking out.

the thing is, if you don't enjoy the science of stuff like how to recycle junk steel into knives and other useful tools, then you are boring anyway, and we won't miss you on the other side of the event.

everyone just gets depressed omg i'm gonna lose all those convenient solutions for modern living. yeah, you wanted that? honestly?

not really so much, but don't get attached to a piece of dirt that is probably going to be covered in mud or a new seabed.
