It was a time of madness; a time of chaos. A time when the boundaries between the lawless world of the paranormal and the mundane human realm blurred dangerously together, and I, the legendary monster hunter - Hoss Delgado, was walking through its wild, unknown territories.
One of the most iconic figures that I encountered in my monster-fighting endeavors was Eris, Goddess of Chaos.
To look upon her was as though witnessing the dawning of Creation itself; a tall, regal figure clad in an ivory gown that shimmered with a faint iridescence, crowned by a helmet in the form of a snarling, wild-eyed canine, and bearing a staff of silver crafted into a double-edged sword that seemed to bring with it a storm that heralded her presence.
There was a sense of danger and wild energy around her, a force that seemed almost apocalyptic in nature. But despite that, she was one of the most attractive women I had ever had the privilege of knowing.
We had a brief but crazy relationship, full of adventures and wild times that left me feeling both exhilarated and bemused. We raced across the moonlight-streaked sky in her chariot drawn by white horses so swift that they seemed to be propelled by a force other than earthly, we heli-skiied down the slopes of Pandemonium; and on multiple occasions when facing down massive dragon incursions or banshee rampages, she lent her chaotic essence to my missions, causing chaos and confusion which in turn gave me the opportunity to save the day.
Our time together was filled with wild and sometimes dangerous moments, but they blessed me with a lifetime of memories that have remained more vivid than ever. Though I have never been able to recreate that spark of electricity that buzzed between us, I still get a thrill when I think back to our most intense moments together.
The battles with giant, mythical monsters -- the glassy-eyed stares of creatures lost in time and space - the eerie landscape of blackened skies, scorched earth, and moans that filled the night air.
Perhaps the most important piece of wisdom I gained from my time with Eris is that chaos should be embraced, for it is the only real constant. It is the only thing that never changes, and it is the one thing you can always count on.
Eris was both an ally and a steady reminder of the dangers that lurk in the shadows beyond our day, and I am thankful to have known her.
