Imagine you had a phone that was owned by specifically one company, with all your data sent to only them, regardless of the app you used. It's purely hypothetical.

If you had to choose, who would you, and why?

- Microsoft

- Google

- Huawei (aka. China)

- A european big-tech company (can't think of one, ngl xD and I live here!)

I had a talk with a friend of mine about where I'd rather have my data go and I once told him that if I had to pick, I would rather my data go to China, since they don't do a lot in ad/data dealings with the US - as in, it might potentially not influence my daily live a lot. Plus, I dont plan to ever go there anyway. So... have fun with my effectively dead data I guess? o.o

Been mulling this kinda stuff over for quite a while now, and wonder what y'all think. ^^

(btw: I run microG for LineageOS 20 on my phone; I actually don't want to share my data with anyone - but I am curious regardless.)

Microsoft.

Simply a pragmatic choice.

I've spent many years of my life on Windows, used tons of Skype for private conversations, back when I was a n00b. (Skype wasn't owned by Microshit yet, but I doubt they just delete every trace of past actions, once they took over.)

Now, I need Microsoft Teams for work related shit, anyway.

So, it'd be Microshit because that ship has sailed a long time ago. :)
