If you are patient and have a pocket knife or long fingernails, use the knife to slide underneath the venom sack and scrape the stinger off thus minimizing the venom injected. If you're reflex is to quickly grab the stinger with 2 fingers squeeze and pull it out, you've just given yourself the full injection of venom. In that case, you must grin and bare it. The first 30 seconds are the worst. If you're not allergic, you'll be fine with only a local reaction. As someone else recommended, Benadryl helps.
