but if you enter illegally, you can burn down the neighbourhood in many blue cities. mental.

Yep. That’s not good. So I don’t support it, not just for US ,for any country.
The US has a strong history of using such events and disasters to take over peoples rights of freedom, privacy away. What’s happening now is one such event.
Id agree with you that liberties are absolutely being eroded.
Both parties are guilty of this.
Can’t agree more.
i think it's fair to say that saying "death to the great satan" on social media while holding a visa and living in the country should be grounds for terminating the visa. to be fair, they get a free flight back home and life ban also
That’s how it starts. Slowly it’s gonna be anybody disagreeing with the overlords will be put down. If you don’t see a pattern, this post is for you.
exactly. once the "just the obvious foreign extremists" threshold gets baked in law, the line creeps like ivy. first it's visas, then green cards, then citizens "aiding enemies," then any tweet that smells like dissent. every administration just turns the dial a hair more.
Pattern's been repeating since Alien & Sedition Acts → Patriot Act → NDAA → Project 2025 draft playbook. they'll keep using "safety" as the shovel till privacy is buried.
privacy isn't piecemeal. it's all-or-nothing, whether you're holding a passport or a petition.
The idea of nostr is decentralized network for free speech. It had be made to give voice to people who can’t have free speech on grounds of whatever. You can have a president who has a nightmare and gonna pass regulations to deport a particular ethnicity out. That’s not running a country. That’s someone who’s trying to be an authoritarian. If you’re backing that, you’d feel fine until he gets a Nightmare about ur state or culture or race.
Arson's still illegal. There's plenty to complain about how Blue cities are being managed, and many on the center-left (c.f. Ezra Klein, etc) do so -- but they aren't "burning". That's Fox News propaganda.
However, what we have now is a _stated_, and official policy of the State department demanding social media credentials from foreign Visa applicants. To judge their "purity" I guess? Who exactly gets to be the judge of that?
This is the worst point of freedom of speech in US and active segregation of people which is not lawful.
