No one was up in arms before OP_RETURN limit filters in v30 were set to be deprecated so v29 is simply a continuation of the status quo.

IMO, while I agree philosophically with with team Knots, the one man band / lack of review should be a concern / consideration for those looking to take ‘conservative action’.

v29 will be maintained for a few years during which time options / opinions will likely change. Eg

- Knots tightens up their act and gets more devs / better review / is no longer a one man band.

-Core reverses course

-Another implementation is developed and released.

Right now I don’t think there is a need to take rash actions. Running Knots sends a message but not without risks.
