4runner is solid.
We’ve got a mid-2000s Highlander. Bought it off a lady in California when it was around 12 years old with less than 90K miles on the odometer. It has needed so little maintenance over the years. It’s barely broken in.
Highlanders are nice..
Great for lugging around furniture I buy off Craiglist. My whole place is furnished in nice things that cost less than half what people paid for them and I don’t even have to do the assembly.
Also came to drop Highlanders.
The older CRVs check a lot of boxes for me too.
Look into the gen 1 Touareg TDI. The 6 cylinder not the 10. They are beast.
I like that but thats luxury. I want something i can beat on haha 😄
They are very capable off road vehicles but will be more expensive and nicer than an old jeep, no doubt. So harder to stomach thrashing lol.
But they get 24 mph, can tow more than any v6 gas truck and like I said can wheel hard. I’ve got the gen2 and I love it, same motor as the gen1 v6
The new ones are nice but im looking at the older gen and i can work with that for a beater
The gen1’s are sick. I want one to take wheeling too 😂

I personally am a diesel maxi so I would search for a diesel as they have a lot more torque and are more economical / last longer but this guy loves his 3.6L gas motor too.
