Yeah, we now hit people's outbox relays via Tor by default. So, if they don't have outbox setup it takes longer. Sometimes Tor also takes longer.
Either way, we are taking a look at this to improve. We cant go back to the centralized BS we had before.

I hear you, and I hope so. I have outbox setup. Usability has clearly been sacrificed with recent updates, and that's definitely not what #Nostr needs right now.
#Amethyst is still the best #Nostr client. There really is no second best. If it fails, it won't be good for Nostr.
Its not about your outbox setting, but each person you visit. We also significantly reduced the amount of posts we load on the profile screen. That could be it as well.
Decentralization is Nostr’s greatest strength and weakness 😅 I think if we want hypernostrization it will come with a caveat of it being harder and less accurate, data-wise, than legacy social media. We’ll see if normies can adapt or not.
Though when one doesn't even see whether they have already liked or zapped a post the day after, it becomes a significant UX issue, and that's no bueno for new or current users. Love #Amethyst. It actually worked performantly, for me, but I somehow couldn't control the relays used to build the main feed. I only wanted to look at three, but I kept seeing notes from all over.
Couldn't figure it out.
