I love speculation but citizen journalism and clickbait surveillance ghouls have married it with sensationalism and low effort fact gathering and made it into the only type of news one can come across.

I’m going to tune out even more this year, which normally would be irresponsible as a citizen but in this news environment it’s probably closer to neutral. I’m well aware what’s been unfolding is similar to deliberate strategies by rising authoritarians of history, but I digress.

Really grateful I’m still doing science for work and can focus my brain on decision making based on data on rather narrow but highly impactful subjects.
