Clearly, you have never been a Server?

Being a Waiter/Waitress is usually SUCKY!

It’s a very difficult job, people are demanding, most places do NOT pay well and they rely on tips. (Unless live in a country which isn’t a tip based culture/society like Japan.)

And Servers have to deal with lots of difficult, jerky people!

If lucky enough to not have to work a service industry job, I advise TIPPING WELL, esp if wealthy!

Especially during the holidays. They will appreciate it and can use the money.

It's not luck, it's a decision. Just like choosing to take a service job is a choice. It's also a choice to stay in that job after your learn what the general public decides to tip you on average.

Some people do NOT have the luxury of choices!

Let me guess, you grew up in a PRIVILEGED background?

Have you ever had a minimum wage job?

Did you take out students loans and work multiple jobs to pay for school?

I hit post before I was done typing.

I’m just not willing to tip 20% on a gift card

Pour me a beer or a cocktail… tip city

I’m talking about tipping well (~18% + minimum in USA, preferably 20%+ ) on a FULL-service sit down experience.

It’s ridiculous that there are so many tip jars and people expecting tips for other services!

Also, if a Bartender is simply handing over a beer, why do people need to tip several dollars for it?

That’s NOT difficult!

I think tipping culture in 🇺🇸 is BULLSHIT!

Also, I do NOT like the pressure to tip if business is using Square and similar thing with the auto suggested tipping feature.

Besides, it’s better to leave tip in cash!

In other countries, the customers aren’t having to pay for their wages. The restaurant/bar owners pay for it as part of doing business.

And in 🇬🇧England, ~10% is sufficient.

It’s MUCH BETTER in Europe and other countries imho!!
