Interesting psychological effect of zaps: Feels dumb to waste your time writing stuff that won’t be good enough earn them. Having a post get zero zaps sends the signal to your brain: this was a waste of my time.
Zaps quickly turned into performance art for Jack. Nobody sees the irony. They have made things much less playful.

I dunno, I was thinking of this as a positive: could lead to much higher signal content on Nostr. “Playfulness” in social media usually just means engagement bait.
Playfulness is reciprocity. Engagement bait is sending 1mm zaps.
