Sold a dude a car. told him it had issue with burning oil and i recently had the coils replaced.

now he's hitting me up for repair cost he got quoted from the dealership.

told him i'd pay for spark plugs and coils but not the labor.

he seems very disgruntled.

he test drove the car and I was very upfront about the issues i knew about.

apparently the dealership magically found some other issues even though I just had it in a local shop in July.

drove it almost daily to and from work. suddenly it needed to be towed in the 3 days that he took possession after the sale.

**sigh** it's all so tiresome. i know people are struggling so it feels bad but I don't feel like i acted in bad faith.

also, why take it to a dealer?!? always pricier at a dealership...

You do not owe the guy a dime. Don't ever offer to pay things for a car you sold somebody. Opens a GIANT can of worms.

Already said I’d reimburse him with an itemized receipt of parts cost for sparks and coils. 🤷‍♂️
