So Albyhub is just another node you run on your umbrel where you have to open up new channels of its own. I have channels opened up on my regular lightning node why would I want extra channels to manage for albyhub. Its dumb.

It's like a dashboard, not a separate node. No separate channels. It displays your Umbrel's existing channels.
Not what happened for me. I downloaded alby hub on the umbrel. Selected the get started, made the password then i had to pay for a liquidity channel. None of my lightning node channels were there. Its like a whole separate node.
Wtf? That makes no sense! It's not like that on Start9.
And me being smarter than the average node runner I says to myself Ill just open a pipe from my regular node to the alby hub, nope , the regular node doesnt recognize the albyhub node pubket.
On Umbrel it uses LND. what are you doing? ;)
also typically those nodes are private and thus you first have to connect to the peer from the alby hub.
but you should use LND with Alby Hub there.
On Umbrel Alby Hub just used your LND with all the channels and everything.
If you do an advances setup and chose differently you get a new node. But that’s not the default, as this would not make sense as you mention
I did the standard setup and none of my channels were there.

Umbrel sets the env variables of LND and if those are there LND is used.
My understanding that albyhub was just another interface for the lightning node like thunderhub or RTL. I paid 32k sats for that channel from megalith.
If you want you can get a channel from the integrated LSPs, yes.
People use it as a easy channel opening alternative to thunderhub.
So albyhub is not an i terface?
It’s built around NWC and the idea on how to connect apps (like nostr clients) to the node and to make lightning integration possible.
But its pretty much on my umbrel buts it is its own separate lightning node. It doesnt interact anyway with my umbrel lightning node.
