Seems Bessent is not up to date though. China already started slashing permits for new coal plants early last year (by >80%) and the amount of fossil plants they build is now tiny compared to renewables

China added more renewable capacity in 2024 alone than the US has built in it's entire history. The direction China is going is very clear, and it's not fossil
