Maybe not if there are frequent hail events like that… or install protective plexiglass or something?

Most panels are actually much tougher against hail than many roofing systems on their own. Adding plexi on top would decrease efficacy.

The glass is better than ever, even on the cheap panels. Mine survived a hail storm that took out hundreds of roofs in the area.

How much was it for the whole system installed?

I'm in an RV trailer, so... It's all DIY.

Rates for installs vary greatly. Usually a minimum of $12k for a very minimal system installed, but...

That's on an existing roof that's structurally sound.

Sounds like I have some learning to do then.
