My understanding is that for adjournment debates in the UK it’s not normal for the chamber to be largely empty? Perhaps I’m wrong? This type of speech is really common coming from evangelicals in the US tbh though so maybe that’s why it’s not hitting me as anything other than normal Protestant talking points kinda πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Sorry typo, not *abnormal* I thought they were normally empty chambers for those?

Maybe I am wrong! Are adjournments debates not normally empty??

It's more likely I am wrong about everything

We can be wrong about everything together πŸ’ƒπŸΌπŸ•ΊπŸ»

I have no idea tbhlol, but it made for added gravitas

Really no one speaks like this in UK politics, everyone is a Tony Blair clone

We have the opposite issue here where there’s too much evangelicalism going on I fear. Like 90% of Congress is Christian and there’s a lot of evangelicals like Mike Johnson types who will do speeches like this one in the US. Typically not to an empty room but we don’t have adjournment debates but it can happen if someone is like late night filibustering

I guess I’m just completely desensitized to political sermons because they’re so normal here. Used to hearing them my whole life!!
