We got a lot of toys for our daughter from friends and family and she plays with none of them. Her interest rather lies in everyday objects like a vacuum cleaner and kitchen utensils. So the question is, are there children that love toys or is it just an industry catering to adults' desires to buy something for kids rather than catering to kids?

I've had the same thought many times.

My kids play with rocks and sticks way more than their most expensive toy gifts. Also they seem to always find kitchen items like tongs and vitamix tampers to play random games with. If they get their hands on a roll of tape all bets on what they'll create are off lol

That sounds amazing though, being able to create entertainment from ordinary day to day things. I hope that our daughter also develops your kids' creativity.
