### Building LEGOs in Linux

Did you know you can build Legos in Linux?

Here's how:

Install the LDraw Lego parts Library

### Install th LEGO Parts Libraries

1. Download the latest `complete.zip` from [the LDraw.org download page](https://library.ldraw.org/updates?latest).

2. Extract the complete.zip archive in the directory of your choice - your home directory "`~/ldraw/`"is recommended for simplicity.

### Install an Editor

3. Grab an Editor. LDraw.org recommends [LeoCAD](https://www.leocad.org/). . . We like [LDCad](http://www.melkert.net/LDCad) ourselves.

- a. You can find the LDCad download and install instructions [here](http://www.melkert.net/LDCad/download).

- b. You can get the LeoCAD appimage [here](https://www.leocad.org/download.html).

4. Open LDCad (or LeoCAD) and point it to your LDraw parts libraries that you installed in **Step 1**.

There is much [more info at the LDraw.org forums](https://forums.ldraw.org/).

See this 👉 "[Official Models](https://forums.ldraw.org/forum-17.html)" forum for some LDraw Lego models already put together and ready to open up in an editor.
