Wait, I’ve done this a bunch as well. A tarp, paracord, hiking poles, and a basic understanding of knots are all you need for shelter. A lot lighter than a 5 lb. tent too

Yeah exactly... it was the first time I was ever introduced to what starving might feel like and I remember the very basic cheese burger I had when we hit Fontana Dam was like... the best meal ive ever eaten. It was such a lesson in gratitude.

It do be like that sometimes haha. Hell even having a nice place to sit and kick your boots off after 12 miles on the trail feels better than anything else. It’s the little things
