Black Mirror Season 7’s “Common People” episode feels terrifyingly close to reality. In some ways, that level of corporate control over people already exists—just look at the banking cartel or the pharmaceutical industry. But with the rise of technologies like Neuralink, Big Data & AI, especially if twisted into something more sinister, that control and greed could be pushed to the extreme. The struggle for everyday people to live decent, dignified lives will only get harder.
