Love Ted Nelson... breaks the mold, a real one for sure. Sadly Xanadu requires a fair amount centralization, but Bitcoin + Nostr will help us build the decentralized Internet the world desperately needs.

Good stuff

I love Nelson's work & found it very inspirational when I first encountered it in the 90s. But, sadly, carefully-architected systems don't seem to succeed in practice as well as ones like, well, nostr. Xanadu might have been better than the web we got. But we never got Xanadu; we did get the web.

Ted Nelson has a great vision that was ahead of his time and remains relevant. We could use innovative ways of linking documents to their sources in the age of rapid misinformation. It amazes me how many journalists today don’t even link to official documents.
