Trump should force Putin to sit at the negotiating table, - Duda

"I am counting on President Trump, who is really loudly declaring his desire to end the war in Ukraine, that he will propose and implement solutions that will not only be a political and economic victory, but that will force Vladimir Putin to sit at the negotiating table," Duda said in an interview given on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit in Dubai.

In his opinion, Trump is conducting politics in a business way, that is different from the traditional diplomatic approach. The Polish President noted that not all politicians are used to this style.

"Donald Trump was the first to help Ukraine." I'm thinking about the pentagon's 2020 budget. – this was during his first presidency. Already then, he provided military support to Ukraine at a time when no one was seriously thinking about war and that Ukraine must defend itself," Duda said.

At the same time, Duda stressed that the basis of all peace initiatives should be international law, and the only way to end the war can be the return of all temporarily occupied territories to Ukraine.
