Ok so we need to switch if FFs asap but what’s the alternative? Wind and solar aren’t reliable base layer sources of energy. Hydro can work but then you have geographical restraints. If we just shut off fossils fuels a large chunk of the world population would just die. I just don’t think it’s possible to switch off fossil fuels asap, or even completely remove them from the equation ever. If anything it would be a slow gradual phase out, but we still need a reliable base layer, and the only one that can work at scale is nuclear. I know it’s hard to get money but that’s where I see bitcoin miners coming in (i know that may sound like a pipe dream but it really could help). I also know it takes time to build them, but what other option do we have?

Wind & solar doesn’t need to be reliable. The money saved on not Building Nuclear could buy huge quantities of Solar Wind & batteries & be up and running in <3 years.

BEV’s will soak up Renewables when it’s cheap & abundant . EV’s can last days to weeks without charging. This is already happening, just needs scaling up. Also Vehicle To Grid. If 10M vehicles give 10kWh each is 100GWh battery

Base layer is a myth, batteries can now provide grid inertia.

I don’t say this is easy. If we started 20 or 30 years ago, we’d be much further on by now, but we’ve had massive #population increase & nothing but delay tactics from Government , Fossil Fuels & the Nuclear industry.

Unfortunately, times up. The Planet’s heat trap has been set in motion, the kettle has been switched on, we’re just waiting for it to boil now.

There is only damage limitation.
