I can't use twitter anymore. They've tuned the "actively viewing" parameter of the reward function *way* too high.
My feed was almost entirely videos of random attacks even though I kept telling it I didn't want to see those.

Never seeing one probably keeps you from seeing all of them.
If you see one, you helplessly watch it, and then the men in the little algorithm machine send you more.

i see exactly the content i produce. but i rarely retweet and mostly produce my own. i also don't follow thousands of people and only have a few followers. i do not see violence or highly policized or ideological content - i block bots but i don't use mute and i write replies stacks to elon several times a day. i've always been indy, i don't have a team or a backend brand association. i am so amazed at the improvement of content flow since the twitter board got axed. while i cannot control opportunistic uploads of a smart variety, i post everything manually and don't run shows from my brain. my content is open source, free&fair_use so it spreads easily and widely and i keep my accounts small; i'm west coast and i don't pretend i belong anywhere other than my small hometown in the pnw. i don't require return on digitally posted content, and one serious pow physical research loan i made was never returned by the ones to whom i lent it. other than that - i don't care what people do with it. it's just how i spend my time. it's on my website -

I had to delete the app. The algo knew how to keep me triggered and doom-scrolling. I think it’s become much worse since Elon took over tbh
He’s definitely messing with all the controls. I was okay with it generally. It was fun to watch him iterate, but the video stuff went too far.
I think he was trying to tap into TikTok energy but might not have ml video profiling right.
The world definitely doesn’t need another TikTok 🫣
