For Damus push notifications to work, does it have to be open in the background?

Do all the settings under settings-notifications-Damus need to be turned on for this to work? I have a few turned off like notification center and sound. I’m wondering if this causes them not to work
Mine work ok most of the time, but lately don't work (seemingly app closes in background or something) quite as real-time as before.
You keep your app open in the background? Semi and Elsat say it shouldn’t be necessary
I probably shouldn't have chimed in since I don't really know what you mean. I don't force quit it. And push things pop up pretty smoothly. Sometimes they get jammed, and when o go back to Damus on these cases it appears the ap is starting up anew, so maybe it closed itself?
Ah ok so you do keep it open in the background. It should work with the app closed (forced closed). At least that’s what I understand
Yeah I guess so. Seemed to work better prior to latest TestFlight. It's more common lately that I open Damus and it is loading up anew.
