for all the talk about AI I really don't see more good software being created
everybody seems to be working at roughly the same speed

Or just adding immense bloat to their code base. Shockingly, it takes highly skilled engineering to optimize for getting the best outcomes from AI code generation.
The place Iām working now is doing a lot with it, but they apply a level of rigor on their engineering practices that almost no one else does (at least in my experience).
I say these chat bots shouldn't be called AI
