They don’t make the 2.5 inch anymore, the 3.5 inch plus you can find on Amazon 2day for around 90 (it’s normally 70), it looks like they include a case

I paid 75 for amzn 2day on the original 2.5 (normally 60)

It is something that you can kinda wait for it to come for china if you wanna save some money, a debatably you are getting closer to prices comparable to device that can do more than ps1

The plus also has Wi-Fi, I’ll probably get one eventually because I don’t want to break the og, I wonder if a fork of gossip could be run as a onion os app

you’ve convinced me to get the plus. Running gossip on that would be as modern retro as it gets.

is this who makes the sigmastar processor in these things?

needs a tear down to see realidad

i think this is whats in it

It’s Mediatek (mtk’s) subsidiary MStar’s subsidiary SigmaStar, so a hybrid Taiwanese and Mainland Chinese chip business :)

Mediatek is the big mover in chips

these would be selling like hot cakes if the could get the screens supply under control, they moved up from a repurposed 2.5 inch blackberry screen to a new 3.5 to try to solve this issue but still seems like there some hiccups in supply

yes it’s there are arm chips coming out everywhere hahaha and primarily from several gaming companies that collapsed in China, so why there is a flood of RockChips etc

I am not technically sophisticated enough to do that fork. But look at the docs on onion os, it’s pretty impressive overhaul

I think one would need to fork or pr onion to include an “app”

It does have a terminal. The original lacking Wi-Fi made it so no one was thinking about installing a package from there.
