Why involve my employer when I can direct deposit to Fold or Strike and convert. Talking to HR is just one more unessissrsy step and they would probably pass on any cost to acquire the Bitcoin to me.

That's for now, while your employer doesn't care much about sats yet, cause he's getting fiat discount (tax et all)...but they'll be forced to, because you'll demand it, your state is working towards that too, stores will soon do the same, and the federal government will as well.
