No algorithm is cool and shit, but this is what my featured feed looks like:

There is actually an algorithm, based on who received the most zaps in the past 24 hours. It's very primitive and basically a placeholder while I work on a better algo

I really appreciate you continuing to develop satellite, it is the best web client by far. As an aside, I've launched a free strfry relay, you are welcome to throw it into the default relay pool if you want: wss://n.ok0.org

It sits on powerful hardware and may make a difference for AU/NZ folks. It also blocks shitcoin bot spam

Cool! I'll add it with the next update

I use a Japanese relay for messaging, notifications, etc. I'm not sure if this has any impact on how you view global.

Nah this is just down to how the client (satellite in this case) features content it gets from all relays.

I get like some news, 1 gay man, a little bit of japanese, and some other stuff

Accurate lol

I'm in the snort.social and x servers what shouold I do

Wonder what algo 🛰️ uses for Featured? 🤔

According to the dev it's a basic placeholder based on zaps:

I can't complain too much, I almost exclusively use Satellite. But I do look forward to it being improved.

It seems sort of ok, I never even clicked on it before this lol, I'm quite skeptical of any featured/trending client section lol.

Hoping there's more discoverability of content / users in satellite based on group membership and likes and whatnot interconnectivity in future:)

It is one of the only clients that supports "communities", though sadly they are barely used on Nostr as a whole so that's not very useful yet.

My following feed is getting better now that I've been following more interesting people, so that helps too. I agree it's good to be weary of featured/trending client sections, though they do help when you're new and have nothing to interact with.

Personally I hope groups eventually take off Reddit style.
