GM I have made a cardinal BTC sin besides using Ledger. I was able to get everything except one account moved to my Coldcard. While sick, on meds and aggravated with everything I ordered locked myself out of it, and the seed phrases I have written out don't correspond to the account with a substantial amount of BTC in it.

Needless to say I'm sick to my stomach and super pissed at myself over this epic screw up. I'm considering selling a kidney to recover it.

Don't be a moron like me and let complacency and lack of patience cause you to bend yourself over and no lube it right up the rear.

About to offer a bounty to someone that can figure out a way to help me recover it

sorry to hear that :(

Thanks for the caution

I'm sick hearing of this...surely someone will be able to help figure this out. Godspeed !

No pretty sure I'm up shits creek

😭

If unsure how hard you fucked up it is not over yet.

Those seeds you have written down aren’t the password to your coldcard backup are they? Is it possible you added a passphrase to one of the seeds?

No that was done separately and separated to prevent screwing that up. Good thought though

Not to raise your hopes but it could be related to your derivation path. Meaning the wallet is looking for the transactions in the wrong places. Im not sure how it all works but I've seen this happen before.

If you messed up just one word, and you know which one, there is software that can process alternate combinations for you. Good luck. God bless you.

Derivation path, seed phrase, mixed up order of seed words.

I once forgot a seed phrase. Oh dear did I sweat while my computer iterated through all variations I might have used.

It took weeks

Any ideas you recommend? I have limited tech knowledge and have no idea on the approach to take

There are two last resorts to try to get your sats back.

>>>First:

Using your seed+password and then cracking the variation you introduced without knowing.

The only service here I would remotely trust is this one

https://www.walletrecoveryservices.com/

I did not use them myself as I have trust issues and I cobbled something together myself to crack my wallet passphrase.

>>>Second:

Using your hardware wallet.

Security soft/hardware does not age well. Your hardware wallet might be secure now, but flaws will be found in the future. You'll maybe have to wait 1 years. Or 100.

DO NOT send your seed phrase off to me or anyone else in your DMs. Even using walletrecoveryservices might be an elaborate scam running for 11 years, just waiting for that one juicy wallet.

First you could try to get your mind back into the same state: get aggravated and eat ze meds. Then think through the same process you used and maybe your brain will come up with the same genius method of fucking up and you'll notice.

Buy a second coldcard and try tp repeat the process.

DO NOT reset your existing coldcard, as it might still hold the secret to your coin.

1. Which wallet did you use with your coldcard?

2. Which wallet did you use to try to restore?

3. Did you try to be smart: mixing the words, using passphrase and writing down only half of it (because thieves) or something like that?

4. Does the coldcard still hold the keys it generated?

5. Is the watch-only-wallet still on the sd card?

6. Did you use an additional passphrase on the cold card?

7. Are you able to unlock the coldcard with the pin?
