I'm gathering my forces to use some old laptop laying around as a server to host my own relay with only my npub white listed.

That's very cool though. I have a server too and it could work. I just wonder privacy wise it could perhaps not be ideal... not sure.

You can probably use some cloud provider for that purpose but that's no longer self custody.
