when i started learning spanish, i'd often start mixing up french with my spanish cause i've lived in french speaking countries before and learned a bit of french while living in those countries. now it's starting to flip where i'm starting to think of words in spanish when trying to speak in french cause i rarely use french.

Try the french for Spanish speakers on Duolingo or the opposite. It really works

Whoa I didn’t even think about that. Thanks for the tip. 🙏

A lot of French & Spanish words have similar latin roots. That helps if you know natively one of them, but it can be confusing if you have to learn both languages 😅

Yeah that’s why my brain gets confused 😂

Last time I visited El Salvador, I sometimes would use French words by accident when trying to speak Spanish to locals. 😂

I guess it’s always relative to your first language. I found spanish easy to learn in school, because french was my first language. I imagine english is your first?

Omg French is your first language?! Do you know Kaamelott by Alexandre Astier??

Yes it’s hilarious

English is my first and learning French was really hard for me even though I was living in a French speaking country while learning it. Took me about a year to not be totally lost when communicating with people in French. Spanish is a little easier since I already know some French, but still not easy for me.

I understand. I lost a lot of Spanish since I don’t practice as much.
