Ah gotcha, Cashapp likely paid a fee. They do tx batching so it's no fee for you but just goes into a lower priority batch.

yes, batching is an example of the first case of reducing TX byte sizes that we have seen. I think we'll see more of it since the spam continues, the need for a p2p matchmaking system to enable users to leverage the same advantage as exchange batching is now acute.
