Do you need SSD for a bitcoin node? Nearly all of the data is only written once and never read again, right?
Afaik, you don't currently. Though I guess the issue then becomes if trading off the upfront premium of buying an SSD over spinning rust will be cheaper in the long run when you account for the savings from power consumption. We may not be there yet, but we will in the next couple of years.
