As far as I know, if you’re an off-line receiver, you can’t check if the ecash have been redeemed, so it requires a certain level of trust.
The token can be locked to a pubkey which makes sure only the receiver can spend it.

And what app is using this level of security built-in for offline payment ?
Sounds cool, but who’s responsible for locking the ecash? If it’s the mint, then the payee needs to know ahead of time that they’ll need the tokens offline and who they’re going to pay.
