What's the timber? Oak? I thought your plantation was mostly soft woods.

This is Douglas Fir. Which is a redwood and arguably more suitable.

Oak is more expensive, less forgiving, and warps/shifts a lot more than the straight grain and work-ability of slow growth douglas.

Ultimately I offer what I have, and maybe i'm biased, but I'd never work with oak where douglas, or larch is high quality and available.
