Reading the latest hysterical and hot takes on Russia using Bitcoin to evade sanctions — and the proposed “solutions” to combat it — got me thinking about how Bitcoin responds to pressure; how it absorbs energy. Like non-Newtonian fluids.
Non-Newtonian fluids change viscosity or flow behavior under stress or pressure. Like the cornstarch and water mixture most of us experimented with in science class. Apply a slow movement or a gentle touch, it behaves like a liquid. Apply a sudden force or pressure, it becomes hard and more like a solid. They increase in viscosity under stress.
This is Bitcoin. Go with the flow, and Bitcoin moves with you. Fight it, and it resists with an overwhelming counterforce.
Good luck fighting it.
Can you give context, reference, or examples?
