Yeah essentially the same, its a oily substance. Just don't use food quality supplements, but technical quality with high concentration, way cheaper. Its also used in the lubricant industry as AO for lubricants with possible food contact.
Part of my experiment is to use whats available immediately/locally. The liquid vitamin e oil from the grocery store won't work?
If its concentrated enough it will also work, don't know if its diluted or pure. I would add around 0.1-0.5% pure Tocopherol of the mass of canola oil, if its diluted, for example for 50% concentration just use double the amount.
